From 2 July 2018, Australia will have a new child care package, including the new Child Care Subsidy.
The Child Care Subsidy will replace the current Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate. It will be paid directly to services, and will make child care more affordable for most families.
The Department of Education and Training website is being updated regularly to help answer any questions you or your families may have about the transition to the Child Care Subsidy.
Information about the new package, as well as the current arrangements, is available for families and providers.
The transition to the new child care package is happening now. You need to take part in the process.
More information about the transition process and a transition to-do list is available on the website.
A number of resources are also available including Frequently Asked Questions, a presentation, new fact sheets and a brochure.
The first version of the Child Care Provider Handbook is now available on the Department of Education and Training website.
